Player Bio: Wojciech "Woj" Wojcik

The good news just keeps rolling in for the club. First we had a logo & merch, then they announced the first home opener, and now we got ourselves some players!!!!!

First up we have Wojciech "Woj" Wojcik – a polish footballer who last played for New York Cosmos B last season. Before that he was on the OKC energy from 206-2017 first on a season long loan before eventually permanently signing with the club. This means that he has played for Jimmy before indicating that our coach and Woj have a solid relationship.

Woj is a true number 9 player with size in the box for set pieces as well as great touch around the ball. At 6' 3" he has a "sweet left foot" according to scouts and there is not a "ball he can't take down and play with." During his time with OKC energy he scored 7 goals in 39 regular season games while coming up big in the playoffs scoring in 2 goals in 3 matches during OKC's 2017 playoff run.

Before his time in the USL, Woj excelled at Bradley University winning the MVC player of the year in 2013 as a co-leader in assists in the NCAA with 14. He proves to have a history of loving the big stage, for during Bradley's 2013 NCAA tournament run he contributed to all of the teams 4 goals – scoring 3 and assisting on another.

To grab a true number 9 as well as one that seems to have great performances when the stage is the biggest is a great get for Hartford Athletic. We cannot wait until Woj fires one in the back of the net for the first time at Dillon Stadium.

Here are some highlights of Woj for you to enjoy. Pay attention to how he moves to find space in the box and finishes up close. He is going to be a monster on set pieces!!! You can also see how he lead the NCAA in assists as he has uncanny vision.
